Rawalpindi — Pakistan Army has issued an ultimatum that it is fully prepared to respond decisively and harshly against any Indian military aggression, amid rising tensions between their two nuclear-armed countries. The statement comes amid increased alert along the LoC and renewed diplomatic friction due to recent developments in Kashmir region.

Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), made these comments during a press briefing held at Pakistan Military Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Monday. While emphasizing Pakistan’s defensive capabilities and strategic readiness, he warned India against taking any actions against their interests that might provoke firm and immediate retaliation from them.

“Pakistan Armed Forces are fully prepared, vigilant and capable of responding resolutely and decisively if any aggression from India crosses over,” stated an army spokesperson. Any violations to our sovereignty or provocation along the LoC will be met with force without hesitation or fear.

Pakistan’s military leadership sent this strong statement amid rising tensions over allegations of ceasefire violations, cross-border shelling, and accusations of supporting militant activities from both countries. Both nations reported increased troop movements near the Line of Control (LoC), prompting fears of military confrontation.

Pakistan Army officials have accused India of firing unprovoked fire across the Line of Control (LoC), leading to civilian and soldier casualties on both sides. Indian officials claim their actions were taken in response to infiltration attempts by groups affiliated with Pakistan-based groups; their government has yet to officially respond to Pakistan Army statements regarding this dispute.

Major General Chaudhry reiterated Pakistan’s desire for peace while noting its sovereignty and national security would not be compromised. “Pakistan is a peaceful nation and has always extended a hand of peace; however, our peace overtures should not be misconstrued as signs of weakness,” he asserted. Our forces remain vigilant around-the-clock to defend every inch of territory under Pakistani control.

Pakistan’s civilian leadership echoed the military’s statement. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that India’s behavior threatened South Asia’s fragile peace. Dar noted how “India’s belligerent posture was undermining regional stability”, adding “Pakistan reserves its right to defend itself and will not bow down before any threats to our sovereignty”.

Defense analysts warn that both countries are experienced at high-stakes brinkmanship, yet the risk of escalation remains significant. “Miscommunication or miscalculated moves could spark a wider conflict,” cautioned Dr. Nida Raza, a regional security expert. With both sides armed with nuclear weapons present on both sides, any limited hostilities must be approached with extreme care and consideration.

Global observers continue to stress the need for restraint between nations as global tensions escalate. Both peoples remain unnerved by rising tensions that suggest urgent diplomacy while at the same time showing evidence of volatile undercurrents that could escalate into violence.
